Both men’s and women’s track and field teams won the MIAC indoor championships Saturday, continuing a 27-year championship streak for the men and a 12-year streak for the women.
St. Thomas’ men’s basketball team beat Northwestern College 70-60 Friday night at home in the first round of the NCAA playoffs. The Tommies will play Illinois-Wesleyan at 7 p.m. Saturday at home.
Senior All-American Tyler Nicolai’s gritty defensive performance led the St. Thomas men’s basketball team to a 70-60 win over visiting Northwestern College Friday night, advancing St. Thomas to the second round of the NCAA Division III tournament.

After a 4-2 semifinal playoff loss to Bethel Thursday night at home, the St. Thomas women’s hockey season came to an end.
St. Thomas senior Matthew Griswold, an All-American, won the MIAC pentathlon championship for the second straight year with a score of 3,418 points.

Two members of the St. Thomas swimming and diving teams will travel March 23-26 to the Allan Jones Aquatic Center at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville to represent the Tommies at nationals.
The St. Thomas men’s basketball team will play St. Paul’s Northwestern College at 7:30 p.m. Friday at home in the first round of the NCAA Division III playoffs. The Tommie women failed to get an NCAA bid after losing in the conference tournament finals on Saturday to Concordia-Moorhead.
