Sophomore forward Josh Pella’s overtime heroics helped the St. Thomas men’s basketball team to a 66-62 victory against Gustavus Adolphus College to win the MIAC Championship game Sunday, Feb. 26.
Weiers’ double-double helps Tommies win MIAC championship
Sophomore center Maggie Weiers’ 18 points and 19 rebounds guided the women’s basketball team to a 66-54 victory over Gustavus and a MIAC tournament championship Saturday, Feb. 25, at Schoenecker Arena.
Men’s hockey falls to St. Olaf 4-3; potential season-ender
Although junior defenseman Robbie Vannelli netted two goals in Saturday night’s men’s MIAC semi-final playoff hockey game, it was not enough to hold off the Oles as St. Olaf beat the Tommies 4-3.
Deberg, Nord lead men’s basketball team to MIAC title game
Junior guard Will DeBerg and freshman center Conner Nord each scored 18 points as the Tommies defeated Bethel 74-64 in Friday night’s MIAC semifinal game at home. St. Thomas will host second-seeded Gustavus at 2 p.m. Sunday in the MIAC title game.
