St. Thomas’ turtle trackers
“Team Turtle,” a group of Biology researchers at St. Thomas, are studying turtles and their activity during the winter. The research is being conducted on the Mississippi River, some inland lakes in the metro area and a river in Michigan and Ohio.

Flood in Brady Hall forces students out of dorms
A flood on the seventh floor of Brady Hall last night was caused by a broken sprinkler head and forced residents out of their dorms as the St. Paul Fire Department, Public Safety and Residence Life worked together to shut the water off and clean up the mess.

USG president resigns over “error in judgment”
USG President Greg Scharine resigned at Sunday’s meeting, and Vice President Mike Orth was sworn in as the new president.
Off-campus theft and burglary on the rise
Associate Director of Public Safety Michael Barrett said that theft and burglary in the area surrounding campus is on the rise. In January, an armed robbery occurred at the SuperAmerica near campus.
Family studies director hosts upcoming “What Happy Couples Do” seminar

Copyright crackdown
Information Resources and Technology receives 250 to 500 complaints from record and movie companies each year due to St. Thomas students who violate copyright laws. If IRT receives a complaint, it attempts to identify the student by IP address and then forwards the complaint to the student.
