Following record-breaking snowfall, the city of St. Paul declared a one-side residential street parking ban that began Monday at noon. Parking is banned on the even-numbered side of all residential streets. Residential streets around the St. Thomas campus include Selby and Goodrich avenues.
Several trees have been cut down at St. Catherine University to make room for a new parking facility.

St. Thomas community members now share parking spaces with customers of nearby businesses as Lot K on the corner of Cleveland and Grand avenues has new parking restrictions.
Although there are still environmental concerns about the leaves getting into lakes and rivers, the snow makes it impossible to sweep the streets until spring.
St. Paul has begun its semi-annual street sweep, which lasts through November and will affect student parking around campus.
Heavy rains during the summer delayed the construction of the new building on South Campus, but students should not experience much inconvenience as the semester begins.
Construction on South Campus has limited parking space and cut off routes to multiple parking areas including lots M, O and V.
