Tommies smother Hamline 84-0

Running back Josh Parks scored three times in three different ways as No. 4 St. Thomas smothered Hamline 84-0 Saturday at Klas Field.

Parks led St. Thomas (5-0 MIAC, 6-1 overall) with 122 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries. He also added 24 yards and a touchdown on two catches, and he threw a 16-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter.

Ten different Tommies found the end zone during the 12-touchdown game against a porous Hamline defense. Punt returners Tom Loeffler and Vinny Pallini each returned a punt for a touchdown, and safety Isaac Seering had a 25-yard pick six in the first.

Hamline(1-4 MIAC, 2-5 overall) was held to minus-1 yard rushing in the game. The effort marked the fourth time this season the Tommies have held an opposing rushing attack to under 50 yards.

This was the third shutout for the Tommies this season, and the 84 points scored were the most scored in coach Glenn Caruso’s tenure with St. Thomas.
