The St. Thomas football team will host Bethel on Saturday at 1:10 p.m. Both St. Thomas and Bethel are currently ranked in the top-20. Saturday’s winner will share the MIAC championship with St. John’s.

Senior running back Josh Parks was named MIAC Football Offensive Athlete of the Week on Monday. This is Parks’ first honor of the year. Last weekend Parks tied a MIAC single-game record with five touchdowns in Saturday’s 57-36 win over Gustavus.

On Thursday the St. Thomas Men’s Basketball team began their season with a win against Whitman. The final score was 87-79. This Saturday the team will play Whitworth at 9 p.m.

Four female Tommie soccer players were named first-team All-MIAC and two Tommies were honorably mentioned recently. Kate Heimer, Paige Cater, Ellie Eskierka, and Tessa Trettle received the All-MIAC award while Elizabeth Luotto and Sarah Pastnerak made the honorable mention list. The team will play in the NCAA Division III tournament against Monmouth at home this Saturday at 11 a.m.

For Men’s soccer, four Tommies were among 22 selected on the All-MIAC first team. Halvor Houg, Troy Louwagie, Sam Holton, and Jack Barry were the selected players. Jon Lowery, the Men’s Soccer coach has been named the Coach of the Year by the MIAC earlier this week as well.

St. Thomas Volleyball will host the NCAA Division III regional tournament this weekend. There will be two matches tonight at 4:30 and 7 p.m. as well as a Championship match on Saturday night at 7 p.m. Because of their win last night, the Tommies will advance to play UW Stevens Point this afternoon.
