Public Safety briefs – May 5, 2016

On April 27 at 2:04 a.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with an intoxicated person in Dowling Residence Hall. A significantly intoxicated underage student was sent home with a parent.

On April 27 at 2:08 p.m. Public Safety reported a policy violation in Anderson Student Center. A St. Thomas student’s wallet, turned in as found property, was found to contain a fake ID.

On April 27 at 11:46 p.m. Public Safety responded to a medical in the Morrison R2 Parking Garage. Officers assisted a St. Thomas guest who inadvertently walked into a vehicle and cut her leg. She declined further medical attention.

On April 27 at 8:57 p.m. Public Safety documented a theft outside of Anderson Athletic and Recreational Complex. A St. Thomas pedestrian sign, forcefully removed by three St. Thomas students, was later recovered.

On April 29 at 12:35 a.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with an odor of marijuana in Ireland Residence Hall. Three underage students possessed alcohol, and one of the students also possessed marijuana and related paraphernalia.

On April 29 at 1:05 a.m. Public Safety and the St. Paul Fire and Police Departments responded to a vehicle accident on the 100 block of Cleveland Avenue. A St. Thomas student who lost control of her vehicle and struck several vehicles, was transported to an area hospital.

On April 29 at 8:52 a.m. Public Safety and St. Paul Fire and Police Departments responded to a vehicle accident at Marshall Avenue and Finn Street. A St. Thomas student collided with another vehicle, damaging both vehicles but causing no injuries.

On April 29 at 1:19 p.m. Public Safety documented a disturbance at Selby Avenue and Finn Street. A St. Thomas student reported several unidentified individuals made offensive gestures towards her and disrupted traffic at the intersection.

On April 29 at 4:32 p.m. Public Safety documented a bicycle theft outside of Ireland Residence Hall. A UST student reported his secured bicycle was stolen from the bike rack on the north side of Ireland.

On April 29 at 4:42 p.m. Public Safety documented property damage in Anderson Student Center. A pillar next to the bowling lanes in the lower level appeared to have been inadvertently struck and damaged by a bowling ball.

On April 30 at 1:58 p.m. Public Safety documented a theft in Morrison Hall. The book donation bin in the second floor common area was intentionally destroyed.

On April 30 at 2:12 p.m. Public Safety reported a vehicle accident at the intersection of Selby Avenue and Finn Street. A St. Thomas fleet vehicle was rear ended by a non St. Thomas affiliated person, causing minor damage to both vehicles.

On April 30 at 3:01 p.m. Public Safety documented an aggravated assault on the 900 block of Hawthorne Avenue. The Minneapolis Police Department reported an unidentified victim was threatened at knifepoint by an unknown suspect.

On May 1 at 12:58 a.m. Public Safety documented a robbery at 8th Street and Hennepin Avenue. The Minneapolis Police Department reported an unidentified victim was assaulted and robbed by unknown suspects.

On May 1 at 1:43 a.m. Public Safety reported damage to property near the corner of Summit and Cleveland Avenues. Spray paint graffiti was found on the St. Thomas sign near the intersection.

On May 1 at 1:42 p.m. Public Safety responded to a medical in the Morrison Hall Public Safety Office. Officers assisted a St. Thomas student who fell while rollerblading. The student declined further medical attention.

On May 1 at 1:51 a.m. Public Safety documented a robbery on the 800 block of Hennepin Avenue. The Minneapolis Police Department reported five non St. Thomas affiliated suspects were arrested for assaulting and robbing an unidentified suspect.

On May 1 at 5:48 p.m. Public Safety responded to a medical in the Anderson Athletics and Recreation Complex. Officers assisted a St. Thomas student who suffered from a seizure. The student declined further medical attention.
