Turkey’s state data security company is suing Facebook $270,000 for breaking their government’s data collection laws.

Facebook did not comply with the government’s required technical measures to protect users from a third party data collecting app. Failure to notify users of it caused 6.8 million people to be affected by it in September alone.

A St. John’s student started a petition on May fifth to keep St. Thomas in the MIAC conference. The petition will be presented to the MIAC board presidents at their next meeting on May 29th when they vote whether to keep St Thomas in the MIAC conference. Click here to read the full story.

Mark Zuckerberg’s former roommate warns people against the dangers of Facebook.

Chris Hughes says in his op ed piece published in The New York Times that Facebook has undermined democracy, is violating user agreement laws and is gaining a monopoly power against its users.

St. Thomas Men and Women’s Lacrosse teams have had record breaking seasons giving both teams chances to compete at nationals. The men’s team is undefeated in the national tournament which will conclude on Saturday, May 11th.
