MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Authorities have identified four people who were killed in an icy highway crash in northeastern Minnesota this weekend as a family of four.
The crash happened around 3 p.m. Saturday in Aitkin County when the four people in a Mazda SUV collided with a Chevrolet Suburban heading the opposite direction on Highway 65. The Minnesota State Patrol said the highway was icy at the time.
The State Patrol identified the family as Christopher and Rae Moe and their 14-year-old daughter, Samantha, and 12-year-old son, Anthony. The family was from Columbia Heights.
Two people in the Suburban suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash was one of more than 150 accidents reported statewide on Saturday as more than 3 inches of snow fell in the Twin Cities Metro.
