St. John’s 70, Hamline 0
No. 8 St. John’s shut out Hamline 70-0 Saturday at Klas Field in St. Paul. The Johnnies are now 8-1 heading into a non-conference game against Rose-Hulman at home next week.
St. John’s QB Jackson Erdmann led the team with 256 passing yards. Erdmann threw three touchdown passes.
The win against Hamline gave the Johnnies at least a tie for the MIAC championship with whomever wins the Bethel vs. St. Thomas game next week. The win gives St. John’s an automatic bid into the NCAA playoffs.
Hamline passed for 79 yards, and squeaked in a touchdown past St. John’s defense. Hamline (1-8) will end its season Saturday at Augsburg.
Bethel 63, Augsburg 6
No. 9 Bethel dominated Augsburg (1-8) Saturday 63-6 at Royal Stadium.
Bethel QB Jaran Roste passed for 272 yards. He threw two of his three touchdown passes in the first quarter.
Bethel (8-1) will play for a piece of the MIAC championship next week against St. Thomas at O’Shaughnessy Stadium.
Concordia-Moorhead 14, St. Olaf 0
Concordia-Moorhead beat St. Olaf in Moorhead Saturday 14-0 at Jake Christiansen field, coming off its win against nationally ranked St. John’s last weekend.
The game remained scoreless until six seconds before the half, when Concordia broke the deadlock as Wyatt Curtis capped a 12-play, 57-yard drive with a one-yard touchdown run on third and goal.
Concordia (4-5) threw only one pass during the game, which was incomplete. Ten Cobbers combined to rush for 262 yards, with Logan Hatfield rushing for a game-high 126 yards on 25 attempts.
St. Olaf (5-4) will end its season next week at Gustavus.
