On June 13 at 6:51 a.m., Public Safety and the St. Paul Fire Department responded to a smoke alarm at John Paul II Residence Hall. A large amount of dust created by a UST vendor working in the building caused the alarm to go off. No smoke or fire was present.
On June 13 at 2:19 p.m., Public Safety documented a neighbor complaint on the 2000 block of St. Clair Avenue. A UST neighbor reported the St. Paul Police Department responded to a residence on the block to advise the occupants of proper noise levels.
On June 14 at 1:46 a.m., Public Safety and the St. Paul Police Department responded to a suspicious incident on Cleveland Avenue. A non-UST affiliated individual sleeping on a bench was transported home by SPPD.
On June 14 at 6:14 p.m., Public Safety documented a fire at the Gainey Conference Center. A UST employee reported a structure on the campus was struck by lightning, starting a fire on the roof that was extinguished a short time later by the Owatonna Fire Department.
On June 15 at 9:16 a.m., Public Safety documented a fire in Dowling Residence Hall. A UST employee reported a fire started in a lower level DOW oven that was being cleaned, but was self-contained and extinguished itself and caused no damage.
On June 17 at 2:43 a.m., Public Safety responded to a noise/party complaint outside of 2171 Grand Ave. A report of a group of people playing football in the alley behind 71G could not be verified upon officers’ search of the area.
On June 17 at 1:15 p.m., Public Safety documented a suspicious incident on the 2000 block of Portland Avenue. A UST student reported an unidentified person was peeping in a first floor window of their residence.
On June 17 at 8:42 p.m., Public Safety and Hennepin County Medical Center Medics responded to a medical outside of Terrence Murphy Hall. A non-UST affiliated individual passed out on a bench outside of TMH was transported by Medics to an area hospital for further medical attention.
On June 18 at 9:11 a.m., Public Safety reported damage to property outside of Byrne Residence. Black spray paint graffiti was found on stone post outside of BYR.
On June 18 at 2:54 p.m., Public Safety documented property damage in O’Shaughnessy-Frey Library Center. A UST student reported black pen graffiti in a lower level LIB men’s restroom.
On June 18 at 4 p.m., Public Safety reported property damage in Brady Educational Center. Water damage was discovered on the ceiling outside of a first floor classroom.
On June 19 at 2:29 p.m., Public Safety reported a safety concern in the tunnels between Physical Plant and Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex. Several pipes in the tunnel were found to have signs of corrosion and rust.
On June 20 at 2:31 p.m., Public Safety documented a suspicious incident on the 2000 block of Portland Avenue. A UST student reported they saw what appeared to be the shadow of an unidentified person outside of their residence, but could not provide further description or incident details.
On June 20 at 9:15 p.m., Public Safety documented a suspicious incident on the 1900 block of Ashland Avenue. A UST student reported their neighbor found a stump placed outside of the student’s window that someone would be able to stand on and look in the student’s window.
