Public Safety briefs

On March 28, 2013 at 2:50 a.m., Public Safety and the St. Paul Police Department responded to an intoxicated person on the Lot B drive aisle. An intoxicated St. Thomas student of legal age, who was cited by SPPD for failing to pay a car driver, was sent off campus with a sober caregiver.

On March 29, 2013 at 2:18 a.m., Public Safety responded to suspicious activity in Lot A. An underage St. Thomas student sleeping in a vehicle was in possession of suspected marijuana and related paraphernalia, and was also later found to have alcohol in his residence.

On March 31, 2013 at 1:36 a.m., Public Safety and Residence Life responded to suspicious activity in Ireland Residence Hall. Two underage intoxicated persons, wandering through Ireland, and a St. Thomas student, impaired due to drug use, were set off campus with sober caregivers.  PublicSafety_Briefs_PHOTO

On April 1, 2013 at 12:58 p.m., Public Safety reported damage to property in Koch Commons. A malfunctioning ice machine was leaking water in Koch and lower level Brady Residence Hall.

On April 2, 2013 at 6:51 a.m., Public Safety and St. Paul Fire Department Medics responded to a medical at 2151 Grand Ave. A St. Thomas student experiencing a diabetic reaction was assisted by medics and did not require further medical attention.

On April 3, 2013 at 6:37 a.m., Public Safety reported drug paraphernalia in Murray-Herrick Campus Center. A St. Thomas student’s purse, recovered from a classroom by a university employee, contained marijuana related paraphernalia and was secured as found property inventory.

On April 3, 2013 at 8:38 a.m., Public Safety assisted the Lima, Ohio Police Department with making emergency contact with a UST employee in Terrence Murphy Hall.

On April 3, 2013 at 3:09 p.m., Public Safety responded to a medical in Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex. A St. Thomas student who injured his shoulder playing basketball was assisted by officers and declined further medical attention.

On April 4, 2013 at 2:27 p.m., Public Safety documented a vehicle accident in Lot O. A St. Thomas employee reported he struck a parked vehicle with his personal vehicle, causing damage to both vehicles, but no injuries.

On April 4, 2013 at 9:27 p.m., Public Safety and the St. Paul Police Department responded to a vehicle accident at Cretin and Grand avenues. A St. Thomas student’s vehicle collided with a non- affiliated person’s vehicle, causing damage to both vehicles, but no injuries.

On April 4, 2013 at 9:51 p.m., Public Safety reported a liquor law violation on the Lower Quad. An underage St. Thomas student was found to have consumed alcohol and was in possession of a fake ID.

On April 4, 2013 at 11:04 p.m., Public Safety and St. Paul Fire Department Medics responded to a medical in Morrison Residence Hall. A St. Thomas student who was feeling ill was transported by medics to an area hospital for further medical attention.

On April 5, 2013 at 12:13 a.m., Public Safety documented suspicious activity outside of Minneapolis Opus Hall. An unidentified individual smoking under the escalator in the FAIR school lobby area left on foot upon being observed by officers.

On April 5, 2013 at 12:20 p.m., Public Safety responded to a vehicle accident on the 30 block of South Finn Street. A St. Thomas student collided with a second student making a U-turn, causing damage to both vehicles, but no injuries.

On April 5, 2013 at 2:02 p.m., Public Safety responded to an attempted theft outside of Summit Classroom Building. An unidentified individual, who attempted to steal a secured bicycle, could not be located upon officers’ search of the area.

On April 6, 2013 at 1:39 p.m., Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a welfare check in Ireland Residence Hall. A significantly impaired underage St. Thomas student was sent off campus with a parent.

On April 6, 2013 at 3:14 a.m., Public Safety documented a sexual assault that occurred at an off campus location in St. Paul. A St. Thomas student reported she was assaulted by another student at an off campus residence.

On April 6, 2013 at 2:38 p.m., Public Safety and St. Paul Fire Department Medics responded to a medical at O’Shaughnessy Stadium. A non-St. Thomas affiliated individual who suffered a head injury playing rugby was transported by Medics to an area hospital.

On April 7, 2013 at 12:44 a.m., Public Safety responded to an intoxicated person on the Flynn Turn-Around. An intoxicated St. Thomas student of legal age was sent home with a sober caregiver.

On April 7, 2013 at 3 p.m., Public Safety documented criminal damage to property in Flynn Residence Hall. A Residence Life staff member reported an exterior window of her residence was struck and damaged.

On April 7, 2013 at 1:18 a.m., Public Safety responded to a liquor law violation in Ireland Residence Hall. Six underage St. Thomas students were found to have consumed alcohol.

On April 7, 2013 at 3:03 a.m., Public Safety responded to a disturbance outside of Flynn Residence Hall. Three intoxicated St. Thomas students of legal age, reported throwing chairs outside of Flynn, were sent off campus with a sober caregiver.

On April 7, 2013 at 6:13 a.m., Public Safety reported drug possession outside of Flynn Residence Hall. A St. Thomas student’s backpack, found outside of Flynn and secured as found property inventory, contained suspected marijuana.
