An undefeated season will be on the line Saturday when St. Thomas (9-0) faces Carleton College (3-5) at home.

Women’s soccer falls in MIAC semifinals to Concordia-Moorhead
The Tommies lost 4-1 Wednesday in the MIAC semifinals to the two-seeded Concordia Cobbers to end the season. The Tommies finished with an 11-7-1 record.

Coping with concussions at St. Thomas
In the wake of the NFL’s crackdown on helmet-to-helmet contact, a recent Mayo Clinic Summit on traumatic brain injuries in hockey, and a head injury that sidelined Minnesota Twins player Justin Morneau for more than half the season, concussions have become a prevalent issue at every level of modern-day sports.

Four teams competed in St. Thomas’ first intramural co-ed touch football tournament Saturday at Palmer Field.
Women’s soccer heads to postseason play, men’s season ends
Saturday marked the beginning of the postseason for the St. Thomas women’s soccer team, and the end of the season for the men’s team.
The Tommie women’s team beat St. Mary’s 4-0 at home Saturday and will advance to the MIAC championships as the No. 3 seed.

On the eve of the October holiday, Caruso dug into his playbook bag and pulled out plenty of tricks on the way to a 43-6 win Saturday at Gustavus .
Swimming kicks off season in new athletic center
The St. Thomas men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams kicked off the season Saturday in the new Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex pool with the St. Thomas relays, a non-scoring meet.
The atmosphere Saturday at the new pool was great, coach Tom Hodgson said.
Football beats Gustavus 43-6, goes 9-0
Coming off a big win last week against Bethel and looking for a win to go 9-0 for the first time since 1923, St. Thomas racked up 50 penalty yards in the first half, but dominated the second half to go 9-0 for the first time since 1923.
