After a celebratory homecoming weekend and with Halloween just around the corner, St. Thomas students are in a festive mood. But with new restrictions such as the social host ordinance and Public Safety keeping drinking in the dorms under control, students are reconsidering their partying habits.

Longtime Opus College of Business faculty member Frank Coglitore, 67, died Thursday morning of cancer.
Band Club, Bible study group receive USG funding
The Undergraduate Student Government approved club budget allocations and conference and competition requests at its meeting Sunday night.
The Band Club was allocated $1,400. Thirst, a Bible study group on campus, requested $762, but was allocated $362.
The Society of Human Resources requested $1130, but was allocated $430.
Body found along Mississippi River not affiliated with St. Thomas
A man’s body was discovered Friday night along the Mississippi River bluffs near Summit Avenue.
Latest research claims drinking doubles on study abroad trips
Alcohol consumption by college students is hardly a new topic, but a recent study suggests that students who are studying abroad drink twice as much as when they’re on campus in the United States.

Invisible Children club spreads word about Ugandan violence
More than 150 students gathered Tuesday night in the John R. Roach Center auditorium to watch a film and listen to a personal account of the violence child soldiers are subjected to in northern Uganda.
Students were able to gain an understanding of the violence occurring in Uganda as well as the Invisible Children organization’s role in stopping child soldier training and the massacre of innocent citizens.
Facebook apps leak user information, students annoyed
Several popular Facebook applications have been giving users’ personal identifying information to dozens of advertising and Internet tracking companies.
