New FAFSA website makes application process simpler
Recent changes to the FAFSA website, including a new design, make the process more simple, said Scott Meyer, assistant director of financial aid.
St. Thomas cancels all Monday classes as snow piles up
St. Thomas has canceled all day and evening classes for Monday, Feb. 21, according to the university’s snow hotline.
Freshman Anna Fitgerald said she was excited about the snow day.
“I might go play outside tomorrow, maybe go sledding,” she said.
Renovations made to Brady Educational Center
Brady Educational Center renovations were completed this J-term, and the choir room received most of the improvements.

Daniel Carr wins 2011 Tommie Award
Carr is a political science major and has been involved in Students Taking Action Now in Darfur, USG and varsity football and is a founding member of the St. Thomas chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Tuition to increase 5.2 percent next year
Doug Hennes, vice president of university relations, said a number of factors contributed to next year’s tuition increase including more financial aid, faculty and staff raises, improvements in technology, building projects and elevator retrofitting.

Alumni Systems Director Liz Zupfer, formerly Liz Baniak, was the recipient of the 1991 Tommie Award. This year’s recipient will be the 81st in school history.

Students graduating with a Masters of Business Administration from the Opus College of Business could experience a 33 percent increase in their salaries, according to a New York Times survey of London graduates.

More than 70 clubs set up booths Tuesday for the Spring Activities Fair. Although many students had already attended the Fall Activities Fair, this event gave them another opportunity to get involved in an activity they may have previously overlooked.
