Va. Tech: Gunman in police killing wasn’t student
A Virginia Tech police officer was killed after pulling a driver over in a school parking lot. Police said the gunman was not involved in the traffic stop. Instead, he approached, shot the officer and then fled on foot before apparently killing himself in another lot.

With the end of fall semester approaching, USG members discuss the progress of its initiatives.
Some departments see growth, others fall short
Though several departments are experiencing growth, there are also a few that are struggling to attract students such as math, English, education and geography.
Healthy C-Store options a success
The C-Store has been testing different product’s viability due to its move to the Anderson Student Center in January. The vegan and vegetarian products have been popular with students.

Christmas tree lighting ceremony brightens holiday spirit on campus
Students, faculty and neighbors gathered in the lower quad Tuesday night for the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony.
