Tommie first-year student takes on the Capitol
While most college students are still sound asleep, St. Thomas first-year Hazel Erickson is wasting no time in her pursuit of a tough profession: politics. She wakes up early two or three days a week and heads to downtown St. Paul before her classes as an intern for Minnesota Public Interest Research Group.

Some neighbors are fed up with the noisy student behavior that comes with the warm weather, but Neighborhood Liaison Amy Gage is working with Undergraduate Student Government in hopes of getting student leaders involved in creating better relations between students and neighbors.

FemCom hosts first-ever healthy sex panel discussion at St. Thomas
Students gathered in Woulfe Alumni Hall on March 13 for a healthy sex teach-in hosted by St. Thomas’ Feminist Community, which featured a panel of seven St. Thomas students from a variety of sexual identities who talked candidly about their experiences with sex and sexuality.

Tommies lobby at the Capitol for increased state grant funding
After Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton suggested a 17-percent increase to state grant funding, St. Thomas students spent their annual Day at the Capitol lobbying and showing support for the budget increase.
Poland confirms Minnesota man as Nazi commander
Poland will seek the arrest and extradition of a Minnesota man exposed by The Associated Press as a former commander in an SS-led unit that burned Polish villages and killed civilians in World War II, prosecutors said Monday.
