LED lights save money, create feelings of ‘home’
Even though this is only the 13th year of the annual St. Thomas tree lighting ceremony, it’s a tradition not even a weak economy can dim.
St. Thomas switched to new LED lights two years ago to save money and energy.

Knights of Columbus push coat drive, pass out hot cocoa
The St. Thomas Knights of Columbus chapter not only passed out hot chocolate but started its coat drive to help warm the homeless this winter.
Even in a recession, Mike Brandell said that there’s only been a slight decrease in the amount of winter items donated this year when compared to last year’s numbers.

New look but same result so far for men’s bball
It’s a new look for the St. Thomas men’s basketball team this season.
Gone are B.J. Viau’s big smiles, Al McCoy’s trademark dreads and Lonnie Robinson’s lock-down defense. In statistical terms that means 2,109 minutes, 791 points and 93 games worth of experience have vanished.

Women’s bball loses to Concordia, first time this season
The St. Thomas women’s basketball team played its first home game of the season Wednesday at Gangelhoff Center against Concordia-Moorhead. And even though the Tommies returned four starters, the women struggled and shot just 30 percent from the field and 13 percent from the behind the arc.
