A look inside Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex
The Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex doesn’t open until August 2010, but TommieMedia was allowed inside Wednesday on a guided tour to check out the progress.
Athletic director Steve Fritz, who was on his fifth tour of the facility, said the new field house will be about twice as big as Coughlan Field House.
Student outlines plan for Friday’s Haiti benefit
The African Nations Student Association, led by president Brian Osende, is putting together a Haiti benefit March 6 in the OEC auditorium complete with dancing and poetry readings.

After being named swimmer of the year and helping the Tommie men’s swim team win its first MIAC title since 1954, Shane Kitzman sat down with junior swimmer Peter Mullee to find out more about how St. Thomas was able to get coach Tom Hodgson his first championship in his 31-year career.
O’Shaughnessy Hall time capsule offers glimpse of 1939
Students, faculty and staff recently caught a glimpse of life at the College of St. Thomas in the 1930s. At a ceremony Wednesday, a time capsule that had been housed in O’Shaughnessy Hall for more than 70 years was opened, revealing items from the time of the building’s construction.

School recycling down from last year, fourth place in contest
After a strong performance last year in the RecycleMania competition, St. Thomas is struggling to repeat similar numbers.
“I personally haven’t seen an increase,” said sophomore Lewis Segl, a recycling team member. “I know among students it’s not very popular. It’s just another flyer up.”
