Woman charged with credit card theft from local colleges including St. Thomas
According to a complaint by the Hennepin County District Court, credit cards were stolen from St. Thomas, Bethel University, St. Catherine University and St. Olaf College.
Students look to USG for more university financial transparency
Undergraduate Student Government addressed St. Thomas’ lack of availability of financial information to its students, and students appealed to USG for greater accountability on the part of the administration to the students.
Board of Trustees set opening date for Anderson Student Center
The Anderson Student Center construction is on-schedule, and will open Jan. 17.

Students learn self-defense
A self-defense course was offered Oct. 19, designed for students who live on or near campus. The course’s goal was to promote campus safety and to spread awareness about the importance of personal protection.

Students write cards for Breast Cancer Awareness Week
More than 50 students participated Tuesday in the Wellness Center’s event for Breast Cancer Awareness Week. Students wrote letters to loved ones reminding them to get mammograms and wore pink ribbons.

USG swears in new member, discusses HLC accreditation
Senior Jared Scharpen became the new vice president of public relations, and professors Wendy Wyatt and Marty Johnston discussed the accreditation process St. Thomas will go through from January 2011 to fall 2013.
International students find Thanksgiving home
The Office of International Student Services has provided Thanksgiving meals for the university’s international students in previous years, but this year students, faculty and even residents will open their homes.
Cookie dough campaign helps foster better student-neighbor relations
Cookie dough and contact cards were distributed to 80 student houses Friday, so students could bake cookies and meet their neighbors.
