iPads, e-books replacing textbooks at St. Thomas?
Instead of simply receiving a congratulatory high-five during the march through the arches, incoming Tommie freshmen might be handed a shiny new iPad in future years.
Several colleges and universities around the country are giving freshmen iPads to replace textbooks as learning tools and, in some cases, to help cut costs.
Can’t find an outlet? O’Shaughnessy-Frey library adding more
To keep up with students’ need to power their technology, the O’Shaughnessy-Frey library is adding more electrical outlets along the north and south walls of every floor except the main level.
Construction is underway and should be completed before the end of next week.
