Dan Carey dies after battle with cancer
Carey had been fighting cancer since February 2010 after the discovery of a malignant brain tumor. Doctors found the tumor after he was in a car accident and had CT scans for injuries.

Women’s hockey loses share of MIAC lead in St. Olaf loss
St. Olaf’s Alex Meyer broke a 1-1 tie early in the third period, lifting the Oles past St. Thomas 2-1 Saturday afternoon at home.
St. Thomas was tied with Gustavus for the conference lead heading into the game, and the Tommies were looking to take two in a row from St. Olaf after defeating the Oles 5-2 Friday night. But the Oles kept their playoff hopes alive.
