Students share stories from trip to Rome during Holy Week
This spring break, St. John Vianney Seminary sponsored four St. Thomas Catholic men 4,904 miles around the world to Rome.
The group was made up of sophomore John Baumgardner, senior Matthew Sweeney and juniors Daniel Carr and Matt Pazderka. All four men are active members of the Catholic men’s leadership group on campus.

The St. Thomas chamber singers will perform a concert Sunday, March 21, entitled “An Evening of Musical Theater Selections.” The concert will be held in Brady Education Center from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and the tickets are free.

Loewen, a nationally esteemed author and sociologist, shared this story with about 200 people during his lecture Monday night in the O’Shaughnessy Educational Center auditorium.
Crossing bridges: 11 women join international celebration
Eleven women gathered at the South Campus grotto bridge Monday afternoon in honor of International Women’s Day. The event was one of many “Join Me at the Bridge” demonstrations sponsored by Women for Women International across the world. The peaceful gatherings are ways for men and women to bridge messages of hope to women in need.

Seminary student’s concert makes for ‘very prayerful time’
St. John Vianney’s last-chance mass singer, senior seminary student Luke Spehar, performed a concert featuring his original songs on Friday evening. Spehar released his new CD, “Be Still,” and allowed audience members to take a copy home for free but welcomed donations.
Meal plan donations raise almost $2,500 for Haiti
St. Thomas students donated 965 meals from their meal plans to support relief efforts in Haiti last week. Junior Brian Osende independently organized the fundraiser to benefit the American Refuge Committee and Haiti Outreach, Inc.
