Students snowed in, on-campus events canceled
More than 15 inches of snow had fallen on St. Paul by Saturday evening, according to the National Weather Service, and the drifting snow and high winds made travel close to impossible throughout the metro area.
Winter storm expected to drop a foot of snow on St. Thomas by Saturday
The Twin Cities are under a winter storm warning starting at midnight Friday, and weather forecasters are predicting a foot or more of snow by Saturday night. High winds are expected to cause blizzard-like whiteout conditions, and 30-degree-below-zero wind chills are likely.

St. Thomas destroys Benedictine in record-breaking day
St. Thomas beat Benedictine University (Ill.) 57-10 Saturday during the first round of the NCAA playoffs at Palmer Field. The team will play Linfield College of Oregon at noon next Saturday at home.
Tommies win first-round game 57-10
The St. Thomas football team won the first round game 57-10 against Benedictine University Saturday. Next week, the Tommies will host the winner of the Linfield vs. Cal Lutheran game.

St. Thomas-affiliated individuals fall at midterm election
Three St. Thomas-affiliated individuals ran for office in the midterm election Tuesday, although none won their respective races.
St. Thomas professor Teresa Collett ran as a Republican congressional candidate in the 4th District, which includes all of Ramsey County and small parts of Dakota and Ramsey counties. She lost to Democrat Betty McCollum, who has held the representative position since 2000.
