PELLA, Iowa – Luther College sophomore pitcher Becca Girvan threw a two-hit shutout to bring the St. Thomas softball team’s season to an early and disappointing end. Girvan struck out 14 batters in seven innings of work to lead the Norse to a 2-0 victory Saturday, May 12, in the NCAA Division III regionals.

Midwest Tomato Fest picks new, ripe location
Started by three St. Thomas students, this summer’s second annual Midwest Tomato Fest is moving to a new location two blocks away from the Metrodome.
Student’s England trip leads to published research
St. Thomas junior Sara Diener’s research was published in a scholarly journal. She spent the last year studying abroad at the University of Leeds in England. After months of research on chemical complexes, her work was submitted and eventually published in Dalton Transactions, an international journal of inorganic chemistry.
