Honors program changes include higher GPA requirement

Stephen Laumakis, director of the Aquinas Scholars Honors Program, said raising the honors GPA requirement to 3.6 instead of 3.5 will help distinguish who qualifies to be an honors student as the overall student GPA increases.

Students applying for more private scholarships

The University Student Government approved spring budgets for two clubs and discussed working on a memorial fund for Michael Larson, a St. Thomas student who died last December.

USG approves Voter’s Awareness Group, Obscure Sports Club

The Voter’s Awareness Group’s mission statement says the club’s purpose is to increase voter awareness and turnout at St. Thomas in an impartial way during elections.

Tuition to increase 5.2 percent next year

Doug Hennes, vice president of university relations, said a number of factors contributed to next year’s tuition increase including more financial aid, faculty and staff raises, improvements in technology, building projects and elevator retrofitting.

December graduate fine with canceled ceremony
