Men’s soccer beats Augsburg to end winless streak, 2-1
Goals by junior forwards Nick Rapisarda and Alex Bernhardt lifted the St. Thomas men’s soccer team to defeat Augsburg College, 2-1, in front of packed sidelines Saturday, Sept. 22, at home.

The Loft invested in a machine that measures, grinds and mixes the brews automatically. Baristas are still officially trained by the corporate coffee giant to create concoctions, but some students believe the machine makes drinks that consistently taste the same.

High winds cause tree to smash senior’s car
A tree crashed through senior Molly Meinert’s parked car Saturday, May 5, on Finn Street, just north of campus. Public Safety said the tree likely had damage from termites, causing it to fall due to 12-mph winds. Meinert said that she was not yet aware of the total costs, but her insurance would not cover it.

Entrepreneurship classes at St. Thomas require business sense, but creativity is also a key factor. The 200-level entrepreneurship program revolutionized the traditional lemonade stand this semester by assigning students to formulate their own business models while incorporating the childhood money-maker.

Softball sweeps St. Ben’s, secures MIAC title
The St. Thomas softball team had 8-0 and 4-1 victories over St. Benedict’s Monday at home. The wins allowed the No. 16-ranked Tommies to secure the MIAC regular season championship and the top seed for next weekend’s conference playoffs.
St. Thomas should accommodate out-of-staters more
Most St. Thomas students don’t understand what it means to be away from home. A majority of them will never experience the problems of an out-of-stater, but that doesn’t mean problems unique to them should be dismissed.
Former St. Paul Seminary graduate turns 100
Countless historic events have occurred over the past century, but for the Rev. Stephen Adrian, it has all happened in a lifetime. Adrian will celebrate his 100th birthday Saturday, April 14. He was ordained at the St. Paul Cathedral in June 1939 and then served the Archdiocese of St. Paul-Minneapolis for 19 years.
