Running back Josh Parks scored twice in the first half against Augsburg Saturday at O’Shaughnessy Stadium, helping lift the Tommies to a 73-14 victory.

Parks rushed for a season-high 194 yards on 13 carries against Augsburg. The senior running back scored on the second play of the game, taking a weak-side handoff 61 yards to the endzone. He added a 21-yard touchdown run later in the first quarter. Parks has recorded at least two touchdowns in each of his last three games.

Quarterback Jacques Perra completed 12 of 14 passes for 151 yards to four different receivers. He added two touchdowns on an 8-yard pass to Emitt Piesert in the first and a 7-yard pass to Gabe Green in the second.

The defense allowed 143 yards and a season-high 14 points, but the unit combined for five sacks and allowed -11 rushing yards. Defensive back Luke Glenna returned an interception 72 yards for a touchdown near the end of the second quarter to put the Tommies at an even 50.

Running back Tom Loeffler scored twice, once on a 5-yard touchdown run in the first quarter and again on a 64-yard punt return in the second.

Augsburg quarterback Quentin Lake connected with wide receiver Nick Heenie for 65 yards on the Auggies’ second play from scrimmage. Heenie scored again in the second quarter after hauling in a 10-yard reception.

St. Thomas is now 10-1 against Augsburg during coach Glenn Caruso’s tenure.
