After holding St. John’s to one-of-nine from the field to start the game, the St. Thomas men’s basketball team now trails the Johnnies 29-18 at halftime at Schoenecker Arena.

St. John’s found its rhythm, going on a 21-to-five scoring run during the first half. St. Thomas forward Ryan Boll has struggled shooting. He has missed all five of his shot attempts from the field and did not register a point in the opening frame.

The Tommies brought the score to a respectable margin in the last few minutes of the half. Coach John Tauer said his team needs to open up its outside shooting and settle down on defense going into the second half.
