Public Safety briefs – March 9, 2016

On March 5 at 12:15 a.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with an odor of marijuana in Ireland Residence Hall. One St. Thomas student possessed marijuana and related paraphernalia, and a second student possessed alcohol.

On March 6 at 12:01 a.m. Public Safety reported property damage in Schulze Hall. Graffiti had been etched into a mirror in the third-floor men’s restroom.

On March 6 at 1:13 a.m. Public Safety reported a liquor law violation near the arches. Two underage St. Thomas students were found to have consumed alcohol.

On March 7 at 8:13 a.m. Public Safety documented property damage on the 1900 block of Summit Avenue. A St. Thomas student reported a window had been smashed out of a vehicle parked behind a residence on the block.

On March 7 at 9:13 a.m. Public Safety and St. Paul Fire Department medics responded to a medical in Murray Herrick Campus Center. A St. Thomas student who experienced a seizure was transported by medics to an area hospital for further medical attention.

On March 7 at 9:38 a.m. Public Safety reported a motor vehicle accident in Lot O. A St. Thomas student struck the rear bumper of a second student’s parked vehicle, causing minor damage.

On March 7 between 12:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Public Safety documented a theft in Ireland Residence Hall. A student reported a cash was stolen from his unsecured residence.

On March 7 at 2 a.m. Public Safety documented criminal damage to property on the 1800 block of Selby Avenue. A neighbor reported the glass pane of their porch door had been smashed.

On March 7 at 1 a.m. Public Safety documented a theft in Ireland Residence Hall. A St. Thomas student reported a backpack, containing personal property, was stolen from his residence.

On March 8 at 3:29 p.m. Public Safety documented a medical in the Morrison Hall Public Safety Office. A St. Thomas employee reported a student had recently been hospitalized due to an illness.

On March 8 at 8:35 p.m. Public Safety documented a policy violation in the Morrison Hall Public Safety Office. A St. Thomas student reported parking citations that had been issued to another student’s vehicle were placed on his own vehicle.
