Public Safety briefs – Oct. 16, 2015

On Oct. 4 at 1:11 a.m. Public Safety and St. Paul Fire Department medics responded to a medical in Ireland Residence Hall. A severely intoxicated underage student was transported by medics to an area hospital for further medical attention.

On Oct. 5 at 10:56 p.m. Public Safety documented a suspicious incident at Summit and Cretin avenues. A St. Thomas student reported that the occupants of a passing vehicle shouted obscenities at him.

On Oct. 6 at 9:16 a.m. Public Safety responded to suspicious activity in Dowling Residence Hall. A non-St. Thomas-affiliated individual, reported as handing out fliers and soliciting the building, fled from campus upon being approached by an officer.

On Oct. 7 at 11:55 p.m. Public Safety and the St. Paul Police Department responded to a robbery at Grand Avenue and Finn Street. A St. Thomas student reported an unidentified suspect robbed her at gunpoint, then fled the area on foot.

On Oct. 8 at 4:44 p.m. Public Safety documented a theft in John Paul II Residence Hall. A St. Thomas student reported that her clothes were taken from a clothes dryer.

On Oct. 8 at 10:14 p.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a liquor law violation in Ireland Residence Hall. Thirteen underage St. Thomas students and two underage guests were found to have consumed alcohol.

On Oct. 9 at 1:33 p.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a welfare check in the Morrison Hall Public Safety Office. A St. Thomas student, initially reported by friends to possibly be missing since the previous evening, was later determined to be in detox.

On Oct. 10 at 10:56 p.m. Public Safety and the St. Paul Police Department responded to a noise/party complaint on the 2100 block of Grand Ave. Police cleared people from an address on the block and cited a St. Thomas student with a social host violation.

On Oct. 11 at 9:45 a.m. Public Safety responded to a medical in the Morrison Hall Public Safety Office. A St. Thomas employee who was stung by a bee was assisted by an officer and declined further medical attention.

On Oct. 11 at 1:38 p.m. Public Safety and the St. Paul Fire Department responded to a fire in Morrison Hall. An unattended pan that caught fire caused smoke damage in a third-floor kitchen, but resulted in no injuries.

On Oct. 12 at 9:43 a.m. Public Safety documented a theft in the Anderson Student Center. A St. Thomas employee reported several special-event catering tables had been stolen from the student center’s loading dock area.

On Oct. 12 at 10:35 a.m. Public Safety and St. Paul Fire Department medics responded to a medical at the John Roach Center. A St. Thomas student who had suffered a series of seizures was transported by medics to an area hospital for further medical attention.

On Oct. 13 at 10:09 a.m. Public Safety documented suspicious activity in the Anderson Student Center. A St. Thomas employee reported excrement was found in a lower-level hallway.

On Oct. 13 at 11:57 a.m. Public Safety documented a vehicle accident outside of John Roach Center. A St. Thomas employee reported that a second employee backed a St. Thomas vehicle into concrete landscaping blocks, damaging the vehicle.

On Oct. 14 at 3:06 p.m. Public Safety reported a policy violation in Cretin Residence Hall. An e-cigarette being used in violation of residential policy set off a localized alarm.
