Student organization Latinos Unidos celebrated the end of National Hispanic Heritage Month by inviting Aztec dance troupe Kalpulli KetzalCoatlicue to perform during convocation hour on Oct. 16.
More than 100 people gathered around the John P. Monahan Plaza to watch the performance co-sponsored by STAR and HANA.
Latinos Unidos co-president senior Nataly Sanchez said the student group wanted the dancers to perform to “increase awareness of the Hispanic heritage and Latinos Unidos.”
Latinos Unidos officially became a St. Thomas club and brought similar Aztec dance performers in the spring 2012 semester.
